I highly recommend to find a website that lets you to watch free movies online and make yourself an opinion before buying this dvd. Each component of the “The Tourist” movie seems stacked one above the other without much sense. First of all, the two main characters, Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, except in very few moments, don’t generate the necessary good chemistry to make a big movie. Angelina looks beautiful as always but in the last sequence displays an outfit that makes her look like an involuntary caricature of Sophia Loren.
Another missing factor from “The Tourist” is the script, orchestrated to be a thriller without elegant or sophisticated dialogues. Set almost entirely in Venice, but the music of the great James Howard Netwon are heavy and totally invasive as they try to sound falsely classical.
After “Eat pray love”, “The Tourist” is the second consecutive film set in Italy that uses an explicit and redundant commonly used formula about Italians, their customs and traditions.
